LAKESIDE SHADOWS EVENT : True or Fake ?

Hi Friends

About a meeting in Lakeside this year.
Our French Fan Club was touched by someone about a meeting like Shadowmania at Lakeside complex in 2013.
Is Bruce Welch officially involved in the organisation of the event?
What about his agreement about this meeting?
These are unanswerable argument. We need to inform our members with the good information.
Can you help us to understand???
Many thanks for reply!

It would seem that the Lakeside are trying to organise a Shadows weekend to replace Shadowmania! Bruce is not involved and as I understand would not be appearing at the proposed event. There is another Shadows themed weekend being organised in the Midlands area of England and bands have already been booked. Check under the heading SHADOWFIX. The Lakeside are just testing the water to see if there would be any interest in their event. From comments on this site I don't think it will go ahead!

Neil you should know by now that you can't judge anything by comments on this site or any other site, there is a silent membership stronger than the few posters on here that are outspoken......Lakeside could still work without Bruce Welch.........Time will tell !! :D

Our question is not to criticize the importance and the value of this possible meeting for Shadows fans like us.
We have no date... No bill... No guest artist name... Nothing!!! it's not the good condition for making some promotion on our paper and website about!!!

It is just to know if Bruce is involved.
If the gig takes place with the same frame of mind Bruce “Shadowmania”.
If Bruce gave his own agreement that the event continues with the name SHADOWMANIA.

Bruce told me personally that the name "ShadowMania" is his and that he will not allow anyone else to use it. He told me categorically that there will be no ShadowMania this year, and that he will not be involved in, organise or attend any substitute event...

The reason he told me? I asked him on behalf of a group of fans who were considering mounting a replacement event just before Christmas last year.

So there you have it...

many thanks david .

That’s arguments we have understood as we spoke with for a previous explanation.
But it is clear for us once and for all.

Thanks for clarification David - it was as I suspected! I did receive a letter from the Lakeside outlining their idea a few days ago!

Lakeside contacted me recently to ask if I would be interested in attending a Shadows themed event similar to Shadowmania, I said I would.

The name is unimportant to me, and whilst it's nice to see Bruce, or come to that any other famous faces, if they choose not to attend it wouldn't spoil the event or stop me going.

I would think the Bob Potter Org has learnt enough over the years to stage it quite successfully.
