Hi Jimbo & Ron,
Thankyou for your good wishes. We're all really looking forward to returning to "The Broadbent", and being joined by Peter Ravenhill.
Marg & me were at the Theatre the other night, to see the Lindsey Rural Players (the amateur Thesps we're supporting) latest production. They work incredibly hard, literally "on a shoestring", and produce some really good work. Organisations like LRP, and the Theatre itself, are - regrettably - under great threat. Unless we all "do something" the only live performances left will be in those horrible (IMHO) "Arenas".
Seek-out your local "Community Theatre(s)" and give them your support.
As for The Broadbent Theatre, it's about as far from an "Arena" as it is possible to get! A converted Methodist Chapel - but with all the attributes of a "proper" theatre - that holds just 99 people! Out "in the sticks", too, but the volunteer staff there are incredibly enthusiastic & helpful and it is a joy to work with them. You can even get a Pint of draught, locally produced, cider in the interval as well!
Best regards to all.
Paul (one of the "other" Creasey's!)

Paul and Dave tell me that there is an excellent bar for the interval ( wouldn't know myself you understand :D :D :D )
See ya there ;)

Wouldn't want folks to feel "let down" on the Bar front. As befits a small venue like "The Broadbent", the Bar is rolled-out in front of the Stage in the interval. It DOES, however, stock a range of wines, beers and soft drinks, together with locally-produced Skidbrooke Cider which is guaranteed to remove any scaling on your teeth!

We're including a "smattering" of non-Shads Rock 'n Roll this time, including (my favourite) "Sea Cruise", where Lottie has even managed to find a Ship's Bell just like Warren's!! Pete Ravenhill will be a welcome addition and we're looking forward to playing with him as a Band. It'll even give "Our Kid" a chance to "exit stage left" for a minute for his Phyllosan!

Really looking forward to this one..................The Acorn was great, Lincoln Drill Hall was excellent, but for ATMOSPHERE, give me The Broadbent every time!

Regards
Paul.
