cleverly timed to co-incide with the DVD / Blu-Release of Tarantino's movie! (and the 60th anniversary of Django's death)..

Looking forward to it.

Great move for Hank to put it out via cdbaby. He can play whatever he wants without interference from management, record company or focus group.

Well said, Andrew. I just hope he sells enough to make him feel it was worth his while!
I'm sure it'll be great - will download it when I get home from work.

Did I read that there's a CD due as well?

You really don't feel as though you've got anything for your money with a download. Well, I don't, anyway.

I'm with you, Jim - though these days I tend to buy the CD - transfer it onto itunes - and then never play it again!

From the sound samples this album is pretty good and melodic especially on the well known Django
numbers.
It would need to be played track by track rather than the whole album in one go as the tempo tends
to be much similar throughout , but yes a good effort I.M.H.O.

If you enjoyed Guitar Player, you'll love Django's Castle. It's wonderful to see a guitarist in his 70's take on a whole new challenge and come so far in so few years. To quote John Jorgenson "impeccable tone, taste, phrasing and arrangements... true to the classic style of gypsy jazz and the amazing style of Hank Marvin."

Cheers, Richard

On first listen, I can't help but smile. Great, fun music - very melodic and well played. Lots of improvisation - and little fun musical references within the songs..I've already spotted the Flintstones...and a bit of Mozart (Forte!)...Well done Hank.
