At last they finished the concert they started 47 years ago in Ahoy! It was aborted by the by the concert organisers, while the amps couldn't cope with the screaming an yelling of the public. Well they all behaved yesterday, only the tickets of those days weren't valid anymore ........ :?
What a sound, particulary the drum sound of "King Stick" mr. Brian Bennett as we used to name him in the old days.
The superb singing qualities of both Bruce and Hank and sir Cliff still keeps amazing me.
And the energy as accompaning Band, as in their own right is an example of achievement, hard to be compared by nowadays standards for reunion acts, which load the bandwagon on and off.
Ofcourse we missed our favourites as The rise and fall of Fingle bunt, to nam one, but who cares, it was a fantastic night after all. As they stop now, they will be remembered as a TOP ACT till the end.
But all the american blues giants still play in their eighties, so who knows .. ;)

8-) It was certainly a GREAT evening with Sir Cliff and the Shads in Rotterdam, Fred! My wife and I were also there and enjoyed
every second of the most wonderful performance we've seen in years!!Too bad it's probably the last time they will perform together,so they say,
but you never know... ;) All of the songs have been sung along by us and at times I really felt an urge to go down to the stage and
ask Hank:"hey m8..take a breather and let me at it for a while!!"  All in all an evening never to forget!
I even bought the full-colour brochure which shows a fantastic walkthrough of Cliff and the Shads careers, recordings and more!!(*drool* )
Now to get the DVD and CD and I'm a very happy man!

Cheers,
Ernie
