This question has probably been answered before BUT "do the Shadows use noiseless pickups?" Their gigs are always buzz free. THANKS.

As far as I know Hank does, because he championed Kinman pickups.

But I also think that current lighting and PA systems are screened to a much higher degree and the Shadows sound doesn't have the same degree of gain that other bands might use so unless a guitar is leaning against an amp or being played right up against it you probably wouldn't notice it in a live performance with other background noise.

Regarding the Kinman noisless pickups our lead guitarist has recently fitted a set to his
mexican strat, fitting these has got rid of all the hum /buzz and interference he got at some venues
with the stock fitted pickups.
once you mike everything up through the FOH pa system the noise from the stock pickups
was greatly increased, since fitting the kinman noisless pickups we havent had any problems.

Thanks for reply, I thought maybe he used Vintage noiseles but was told they dont give a true Fender sound even though i believe Jeff Beck & Eric Clapton use them.
