MUSIC IN THE AIR Sunday 4th August 2013

Postby Rick50 » 08 Jul 2013, 11:40

At 1 pm, in the lovely surroundings of Youngs Park, Goodrington, Paignton, Devon...
The Bandstand on the green, between the beach and the boating lake, near the bars, restaurants, waterslides, steam trains...
will feature live music with a strong Sixties influence, from 5 piece band Pendulum 5; Martyn Paddon; Pat Seaman; and Rick Courtney.
Free entry, a collection will be made for the DEVON AIR AMBULANCE TRUST.
It would be wonderful if some of you are able to come along and enjoy some of the music we all love.
:geek: :geek: :o :) :geek: :o :D :geek: :geek: (pictures of the performers)

Hoping that this lovely weather continues, and to emphasise that ALL are welcome to enjoy a variety of live music.
There is a licensed bar/restauarant called Red Rocks in the park, next to the "swan boats" on the lake.... nearby there is a Premier Inn with a Brewers Fayre restaurant, a waterslide complex, steam trains, award winning beaches, and we will be appearing on the bandstand in the Award-winning Young's Park, at Goodrington, Paignton.
Let's raise some funds for the life-saving Devon Air Ambulance Trust!....Rick.
:geek: :geek: :P :o  :geek: :D  :geek:

In torrential rain and wind, we started to set up in the bandstand but the rain was being blown directly into the front of the bandstand - a quick rethink and in we all went to Red Rocks Cafe a few yards away...not many people about that day but those who were had a very enjoyable five hours (us performers thoroughly enjoyed it as well!) in the cafe - thanks to all; Pendulum 5, Martyn Paddon, Pat Seaman (and me!).
We did manage to raise the princely sum of £90...we will be back, that new helicopter needs fuel! See www.daat.org if you live in or visit Devon, it could be a life-saver!
Thank you for all the good wishes for the event. :geek:
