More Censorship

No wonder it's quiet in here. People are frightened to express an opinion or comment for fear of being shut down!

Nonsense, I know Shads fans who live north of Watford always haggle over the price of guitars etc, whereas those of us south of Watford always pay the going rate, now lock that one.

Whereas I understand the moderators' frustrations over the way the two threads have progressed, I find it odd that both threads have now been locked down, so, effectively stifling ANY (public) discussion re. these two events. A more cynical mind than mine (I am, after all, the TRUE voice of reason ((see elsewhere)) ) might be tempted to conclude that there are those among us whose mission is to make mischief hereabouts, and are now quite satisfied that their own particular purposes have been served by contributing so effectively to these lock-downs. I moot this possibility merely for your consideration, amigos. Thinking about it, whose purposes could possibly be served by seeing us in conflict with each other. Makes y'drink! Sorry! Think! Love, as ever, to all,
Mart.

Sometimes it becomes necessary to put a halt to a discussion.

It may be because essential site rules are being broken such as personal attacks on members or others.

Or there may be external reasons why a discussion cannot be allowed to continue.

There's no reason why another thread can't be started for the purpose of holding constructive discussion of either or both events.

my on opinion on this locking is that it is wrong. the bloke who started this thread set out to target certain members and wind them up. he new how management would act, that it would end up being locked and that would intern upset members of this forum. i`m afaid managment played right into his hands. the whole thing was a wind up surly i cant be on my own thinking this.
in old fashioned talk he was shit stirring and he has got his way with it. everyone else will be upset but he will be laughing his self stupid now. ban the rotter from this site now. that or hang him just get him off this forum.

the following is cut and pasted from locked thread. if thats not stirring or winding things up i dont now what is.

I love the replys on this thread just what I wanted, later on I will explain in more depth my reasons for this thread, I feel a few things I've known that have been going on in the background need to be made general knowledge........Black and white and truthfull, the way I live my life.....Watch this space !!..........

pure mischief nothing else. but he is entitled to say what he wants. but you let him say it then stop others replying that doesent seem right to me. but just mu opinion. peter

Taking a broad view if moderators sense a thread may lead to rumours, heresay, or anticipation of something personal, it will be blocked.
I think quite rightly so.
That's not what this forum is for.

then based on that there is no room for discusion if anybody disergrees with anything that is written. does that mean we all have to agree on all things written because thats not what this forum is for.
the thread in question was a complete wind up from the start the person involved knows that. yet nothing will happen to the person who caused it, and he was once a moderater.
the thread should have been stoped when he started stirring it not when members reacted to it. it was openly obvious what he was doing.
i really like this forum why should he carry on doing what he does which is cerate dischord on here. peter

Anybody remember this band?!
I guess that's why we're all here on this forum and this site in the first place... music.
