I first saw this play in 1976. From about 46'50'' there is a piece of Spanish sounding guitar music which I would like to identify, has anyone got a clue as to it's title ?. It seems so familiar and I am sure that I have heard it on the radio before.

I certainly remember the TV play (about the Nicholson family and their £75,000 pools win), but didn't remember the music.

I don't recognise it and don't think I've heard it elsewhere, but it seems unlikely that the BBC will have sprung for a commissioned piece of music OR for the rights to use a commercial recording. It's what library LPs were made for...

PS: I thought that montage sequence showing the Costa Brava holiday was very clever. It's done, of course, to present an easily controllable image using a series of still shots in order to suggest a Spanish vacation without actually having to go to Spain - or even to a UK location which might suggest a Spanish location.

Hello Jim,

Oh well, it was worth a try, thanks for your reply. I have a feeling that I can remember it from before the play. back to the days of the Light programme even , but maybe my memory is playing tricks !

All the best, Philip.
