ShadowsFix: THANK YOU!

Postby MeBHank » 03 Sep 2013, 14:39

I'd like to say a colossal thank you to everyone involved in ShadowsFix, to everyone who has spoken to me or sent me messages of thanks and congratulations, and to each and every one of you who attended: you all contributed to a wonderful atmosphere where the sharing of friendship and music were the only items on the agenda. Also massive thanks and recognition must go to each musician and singer who performed on the Friday night or with a band in the Saturday concert. I don't think I've ever worked with such a large but supremely professional group of people who wished nothing more than to support me and help to to put on the best show possible.

I forgot to thank four people on the night which is unforgivable because they each did a lot of work to make sure ShadowsFix was a success:

Firstly, Jayne Gordon and her partner, John, who did much of the admin work early on, including setting up and designing the website, taking ticket and meal orders and booking the hotel rooms required for the groups. The weekend wouldn't have happened without Jayne and John's hard work.

Also Ecca Thacker and Amanda Hambidge, who took on the task of running the Friday night Shindig, which also wouldn't have been possible without their help.

Phil Kelly and Dave Eyre also deserve special mentions for their efforts. They supported me wonderfully.

Bob Dore did a great job and it was a pleasure having him on board as a vital member of the ShadowsFix team. He provided us with top quality sound.

I know I thanked them on the night, but another mention must go to the team at the Kingfisher Club. Not only have they done a wonderful job revitalising a beautiful venue, but the whole staff team, particularly Sam, provided a service nothing short of phenomenal. Not only was the food they provided superb, but, all weekend, if a request was asked of them, the job was done within five minutes and in a professional and friendly manner.

Once again, to everyone who came to Kingswinford to support ShadowsFix in whatever capacity, I say a huge thank you. A ShadowsFix in 2014 is looking a distinct possiblity providing we can time it to prevent clashes with other events. If I don't see you beforehand, I hope we'll all meet up there again next year.

Beforehand, though, if you're supporting a Shadows event, be it at Lakeside, Pipeline, East Yorkshire, Tyneside or anywhere else, including all the Shadows Clubs around the UK, have fun, enjoy playing and listening to the music and enjoy the company of everyone around you. We Shadows fans have something special.

Would just like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the week-end. You know you sometimes go to Lakeside with the intention of catching up with people and you don't meet up with them because of the numbers in attendance, big is not always best. ;) It was a nice size (intimate) and I hope that the numbers made it financially worthwhile (at least I hope that no loss was incurred).
It was a good time of year for those having to drive a distance and if it does go ahead next, we'll make the dreaded drive down the M6 again.

Thank YOU Justin!

The organisation behind such an event is incredibly time-consuming and your efforts are greatly appreciated, so a big thank you from our party for all the work you put in. There's a significant financial risk too, especially when it's the first one. But the good attendance must have been encouraging and it all ran very smoothly (from the audience's viewpoint anyway - I'm sure there were some hiccups along the way!).

Thanks again

I would like to add my congratulations to Justin and everyone involved in putting this event on. There was a great atmosphere throughout and everyone appeared to enjoyed themselves regardless of whether they were playing or listening.
As one who played (drums with Shazam) I was particularly impressed with the flow of Saturday, good breaks between acts, started on time, assistance to set up for our set.
My personal thanks to Dave Eyre for the use of his lovely Sonor kit, it is a beauty.
Let's hope next year we can do this all again.

I can neither add to nor take away from what has been said. A great fans for fans weekend with great music and good company.

If Shadowsfix 2 is a possibility feel free to ask for any help you need - just as long as I get to play with Ecca and the 'Matics again!

Well done to everyone involved.

Thank you Justin.

I'd just like to add my personal thanks to you for all your hard work both before and during ShadowsFix and to the 25 fantastic musicians who performed during the show who were all so very professional, helpful and a joy to work with. Without their help any number of things could have gone wrong but nothing did thanks to them.

My personal thanks to you all for making my job such a pleasure to do.

Bob.
