I think it's the Shads playing Honorable Puff Puff... drum solo. It must have been on TV? Out of interest... where was that recorded? Holland?
From memory, George Ford and BB start playing awesome grooves.. BB has his beloved syn drums.
It's not on You Tube...
Outrider isn't on here either...
Can that be rectified?
:)

I bet he's thinking of the Paris Olympia recording from 1975, which, if I recall correctly, has Alan Tarney on bass.

The Shads (or more accurately, Brian) play a drum-solo variant of Honorable Puff-Puff on the full-length (i.e. generally unseen) version of the 1980 concert from Rotterdam. Strangely enough, Brian hated the syn-drums (said they were just a gimmick) and I doubt that he was reluctant to auction them off!

Even I don't know what I was talking about last night!!!!
It was posted after a night out, if you get my drift!
The version of Honorable Puff Puff on Live at Paris Olympia is superb! I'm not sure what version I was thinking of in my original post?!
Outrider, the original studio version, is on the Brian Bennett compilation Official Bootlegs-volume one. For anybody who hasn't got that CD it is well worth obtaining.

Spot on Chris, thanks for refreshing my memory!
The '... beloved syn drums...' bit was obviously meant tongue in cheek!

Personally, I always LOVED the sound of those syn-drums. I thought about bidding for them (I know they went for about £500) when they were auctioned by Brian about ten years ago. Maybe I should have, as I've wasted far more than £500 since...

They were won by Martcaster (senior), and still sit in their custom flight case (which weighs an absolute ton). I think only 2 or 3 of them worked when we unpacked them. They'd been in storage for a long time and the electronics hadn't aged well. Definitely not something you'd want to carry around for gigs, but a nice piece of history.

That is a coincidence! I was watching the footage of the April 2nd, 1980 show in Rotterdam, yesterday and of course saw the drumsolo version of "Honourable Puff-Puff". A great drumsolo, but I also love the drums/bass interplay between Brian and George Ford, just after the drumsolo and just before the instrumental closing of the track. A fantastic live version! If only Veronica in The Netherlands, or whoever owns the multitrack master tapes and original film, could be persuaded to release this fine concert in its entirety on DVD officially!
