The Best Of British

For avid collectors of all things 'Shadows', the August edition of 'The best of British' magazine (no, I'd not heard of it either until a visit to the GP surgery the other day) features an article on the debut album. No new information but it was well written - the writer was well informed and, obviously, passionate about those early years and the original line-up. He was a little scathing about 'Sleepwalk' which he felt was 'pedestrian' and the weakest link in the album.

Worth a read if you can find a copy - unfortunately, I was called in to the practice nurse before I had a chance to steal it!

I'm shocked. Sleepwalk is by far one of the best ever Shadows numbers from any era. So there!

Yes, the Shadows' version is my favorite, too. Our late drummer from the 60s loved it. Perhaps it is a matter of age.
