Des,
Contact Alan Exley at Project Guitar Parts (01527 459545), as he's making excellent repros of this knob and other vintage plastic components.

Perhaps it's Alan's knobs that are occasionally appearing on eBay? If you'll pardon the expression  Thanks for the phone number. I might ask him for a few spares even though my Artiste still has its full compliment of originals - in fact it's all original since I bought it in 1962!

Those Burns repro knobs on eBay are indeed from Mr. Exley. He also makes the often missing selector switch tip for the Vibra Artist, as well as various other plastic parts, including control knobs for Vox guitars and those metal-topped Bulgin types employed on numerous guitars, amps, echo units, record players, radios etc.. He also offers custom scratchplates, vibrato arms, machine heads and buttons, Hofner parts, effects pedals plus other interesting items; all excellent in quality and at competitive prices. In other words, a very useful chap to know! Here endeth the commercial.

Thanks Paul. I only wish he'd put a fixed price on his parts. I have watched the cream control knobs on sale as I could do with a couple for my old Bird amp but they are a bit pricey. I might ask if he's managed to make any rectangular push-buttom tops as some of mine are repaired with Araldite. Well, they are 50 years old!

Hi Lionel,
I suggest you contact Alan direct and do some haggling free from the hindrance of eBay costs. Coincidentally, he's just started making rectangular push-buttons for the likes of Copicats etc., so again a call could prove beneficial.
