Think the Legacy HB or Legacy special might be nice (USA models). I fancy that the PUs will work great with the PTB tone circuit.

Also the pots and parts they sell for Tribute and USA series will differ such as the pots and knobs.

I'm struggling to find anybody who knows what 'revese audio taper not linear' means.
Does it mean a log pot instead of linear ?

Just quoted the specs off the site Dave... The Audio Taper is same meaning as Log and Linear is the other sort.

A simple explanation here...

http://www.resistorguide.com/potentiometer-taper/

There is apparently some way of wiring a resistor across contacts to make a normal one reverse but that is beyond my knowledge at present.

Just found this though ...

http://www.geofex.com/article_folders/potsecrets/potscret.htm

So I think a linear 1M pot would work as a reverse audio taper with about a 200K resistor across the CCW and centre terminals if I am correct ?

Audio taper = log pot.
Reverse audio taper = anti-log pot - hens teeth.

I've left the circuit with a techie guy at AGC and he's making enquiries and sorting it all out for me. I have asked him to wire up the three pots on a new plate using a 'push push' switch on the treble pot for the additional pickup switching, rather than the little toggle switch to do the job. I will add my own pickups when it's ready and I will keep you all informed of costs and if it's a success. :)

The 1M reverse audio (antilog) pot for the bass control can be found on Ebay.

Item number 111427094863 and specify C1M

As you suggest, "audio" means "log[arithmic]", as opposed to linear.

Linear pots can be used either way round without difficulty; that is, you can wire it up for maximum resistance either clockwise or anti-clockwise. So there is no need for a reverse linear pot.

Log pots, on the other hand, have a resistance curve which is different at each end of the sweep (optimised for the way we perceive loudness). If you want one to use as a left-hand volume control, it will either work clockwise 0-10 like any other pot, or, if you get a reverse taper log pot, it can be wired up to produce 0 at the clockwise end of the control's sweep.

Did you know that the double-ganged pot used for the tone control in a DeArmond 610 has one log pot and one anti-log pot on the same shaft? That's because when moving the treadle left or right, one parameter (of bass or treble) is being increased whilst the other is being decreased. The two-pot tone control is the reason why the DeArmond works better than the superficially-similar Fender tone/volume pedal.
