5 Way Switch Replacement

i recently bought a G&L S500 from a dealer, but after checking it out I found that the 5 way selector switch is faulty and needs replacing, the dealer sent me a new standard switch as i wanted to do the repair myself, but when I removed the scratch plate I found that the guitar has an import type switch fitted, now my question is, can anyone help or advise with wiring info, which wires on the import switch go to the terminals on the standard switch, as the terminals on the import switch are all in line, this guitar has the PTB system, any help or advise would be very welcome.

it still looks a bit complicated, i think it would be better to just replace the original import type switch.

Maybe more complicated, but with 10 PU combinations instead of 5:

After looking at many forums regarding the import type switch, most people dont rate them due to there high failure rate, and design, as i mentioned earlier, my guitar is a G&L S500 Tribute 2021 model with the PTB system and still trying to figure out which wires on the import switch terminals go to the terminals of the standard strat type switch, there are a few diagrams on the G&L website that show a separate toggle switch for the PTB switching, but not one for mine which is slightly different as it has the push/pull switch, i can figure out how to wire up the pickups to the strat type switch, but not too sure about the PTB switch wiring.

Have you thought of contacting G&L directly?

~Yes but most people say they dont reply, and trying to join there support forum is a joke, they give new users riddles to solve before you can join

If I were you, I'd ring the company in California directly.

I ordered a pair of ASAT pickups in exactly that way.

Try this that I had . Someone posted it online years back and it features a standard 5 pos.
