When I was a teenager I used to go and watch the recording of Brian Matthews 'Easy beat' which often featured Wout Steenhuis. He had a sound not unlike early les Paul (doubletracking). I've always wondered how he got that sound' live'. Anybody know?

I vaguely remember seeing him on tv sitting next to an open-reel tape recorder which had the backing. It was a fade-out ending so he looked a bit uncomfortable towards the end...
