It always used to amaze me what i would find inside a guitar when it was brought in for set-up or repair.. Once had a Takamine brought in where the guy had stuffed it full of his wifes old underwear to stop the feedback!.. You'd probably be surprised (perhaps not) by the things people would use as shims under the neck when trying, and failing, to improve the intonation. Old picks, train tickets , beer coasters, and once even a folded fiver!! Even had a guy ,who really should have known better, thought he could change his passive pick-ups to active by connecting a 9v battery to his circuitry! Oh happy days!!
