Delighted to tell everyone that my noise problem is no more.
I hooked up to my Boogie SEND & RETURN and the silence is golden whilst the sound is to die for !

That's good to know Dave and something for us to try. A lot of guitarists recommend putting delay effects in the send/return loop, I just never thought of trying it with the eTap2hw-based units.
