I understand Terry Smart joined the Merchant Navy after 'Move It' was released. Anyone have any more details?

When Steve Turner wrote his biography of Cliff in the 1990s, Terry Smart was one of the many people he interviewed. At that time, he was still in the Merchant Navy and living in Harwich.

Thanks Strongbow, that much I know and his residence in Harwich leads me to thing he is/was on the Ferries. This is of interest to me as when it was evident I was not going to be another HBM I went to sea also and lasted 22 years in the game.
