Captain Zlogg (Captains Log) was one of my favourites.

Jimbo and Pedro,

I agree that there are some tough times to be had by all out at sea, but in the end we are all sailors, and are bound by that common thread whether we like it or not.

My last ship before I paid off from full time service was the Destroyer HMAS HOBART, and as you can see from this You Tube clip it wasn't all hard times.......

Discomfort, resentment?
You poor sailor-boys will have me crying in my beer in a moment!
Try something like this for a bit of relaxation!

Well somebody had to do it and you ex RN guys were at least capable of doing that without messing up. Anything as long as you lot were kept off the Bridge. 8-)

George,

Mate. hats off to the 'jumpers' for sure - but I still haven't worked out why you persistently jump out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft!

But, when it all comes down to it, the RN is where the real people are - as this video shows! ;)

Glad to see these RN types have gone to ground after realising a Real sailor in their midst.

Isn't it amazing the way that this conversation has evolved ?, From the theory that Cliff Richard might be arrogant, to the debate as to who is/was the superior service. Gentlemen, I raise my glass to you!!!!!!! Cheers!

Many years ago. my cousin was a chef on the aircraft carrier Eagle. Sadly, whilst still in that position, he died of a a coronary at the age of forty but I like to think that he clearly more than enjoyed his role in the nation's defense up until that time. Patrolling Icelandic waters and jumping out of aeroplanes can be hazardous but, closer to home, the insidious cholesterol should never be ignored.
