Pipeline Convention 2010 - full bill announced

Postby JimN » 09 Jan 2010, 13:25

I had an email from Michel Henaux telling me that his band had been booked for this year's Pipeline Convention on Easter Sunday (by which time I would hope that all the snow has gone). This has been confirmed by Alan Taylor (magazine co-editor) who has published the Convention flyer at: http://www.pipelinemag.co.uk/

Full programme (in alphabetical order):

Apollo 11 (Michel's band) - specialising in the Spotnicks sound

The Shadowers (Justin Daish's group, with ALAN JONES on bass)

The Twang Gang (expect perfect recreation of the Duane Eddy sound from this longstanding UK convention band)

The Vicars of Twiddly (mid-60s Ventures style) and

The Vintage (Scandinavian instro-rock).

There's something for everybody on that bill and for those of us who are steeped in the world of the guitar and rock instrumental, it's all too much... man.

Tickets (it is expected) will be going like hot cakes - so grab your chance to be up close and personal with that lot listed above!

Great line-up as always -- in fact, this one looks a more interesting mix of instro sounds.

Will the Big Freeze keep George and THE TIE north of the Watford Gap???

All tie jokes aside, this looks like a really good lineup...

Hi all,

Hope you are all doing Ok.

Jim,
I am sure you would also like to attend the Deke Dickerson Guitar Geek Festival next week next to the NAMM show and featuring Duane Eddy, George Tomsco & the Fireballs and many others.
I attached the flyer: (I hope it works)

Abel, WOW!

That looks fantastic!

I'd love to see Deke Dickerson live. And Duane Eddy. And those Duellin' Doublenecks. And maybe take part in the most out-of-tune orchestra with my Fender Electric XII...

Best wishes,

JimN

PS: Abel, do you know Tony Chan (of New Mexico)?

I wish you could all be here with me to watch this. It' s alot of fun and how twangy.

Jim, Yes I know Tony Chan, a very nice person. From time to time, he calls me from Japan, New Mexico, or whereever he might be.
We were at Shadowmania 2006 and played also at your reunion a day before.
I have his email, phone numbers and address if you need them. I am not sure it's appropriate to post them in a public forum.
I don't know if you have this picture.
It was a pleasure meeting all of you, Gillian, Ian, Charles Campbell, Eric, David and everyone.
