Me And My Shadows

Does anyone know if there is a Mono version of this album on CD?
I have a stereo version but I would like to have a copy with, in particular, the vocal harmonies on 'Tell Me' which, I think, improve the song no end.

EMI released CDs containing both mono and stereo versions for all the tunes from the Shadows' first two albums, but I don't think the same was made for any Cliff's album.
I still have the "Me and my Shadows" vinyl mono album.

Hi, Terry,

The mono version of Tell Me appears on the following CDs:

"Wonderful Cliff" (Fremus CDFR 0564, Italy; 1994)
"Me And My Shadows" (mono/stereo) (EMI 4 95440 2, UK; 1998).

Hope this helps,

I should add that the version on the Fremus CD is dubbed from vinyl, but re-mastered professionally to remove pops and clicks.

I don't know if it's still available but in 1998 at the time of Cliff's 50th anniversary, EMI issued the first six albums on CD, most with both the the stereo and mono versions. Me And MY Shadows has all the tracks in Stereo and Mono, some of which I believe are different recordings of the same song.

Regards, Martin.

Jim alluded to this CD in his post above...

Many thanks everybody - I think I still have the original mono album somewhere but my record deck is long gone!

Kind regards,
Terry

Not exactly the first six albums, because Cliff's sixth album was "The Young Ones". The following were issued as digipaks in 1998:
1. "Cliff" (mono and complete stereo as an album for the first time);
2. "Cliff Sings" (mono and complete stereo as an album for the first time);
3. "Me And My Shadows" (mono and stereo);
4. "Listen To Cliff!" (mono only with alternative versions of "True Love Will Come To You" and "I Want You To Know" in stereo);
5. "21 Today" (mono only);
6. "32 Minutes And 17 Seconds With Cliff Richard" (mono and stereo). This is actually Cliff's seventh album.

"Me And My Shadows" is one of just a very few albums devoted to Cliff Richard & The Shadows exclusively. It is by far my favourite Cliff & The Shadows album.

I fully agree and what a magnificent sound they got with the 40th anniversary reissue of the album in 1998. It cost me more than most of the other Shads related CD's that I own, but I have listened to it so many times that it's certainly made up for the cost of it.

Cheers,
Ramon.
