God bless Bruce

Postby nick.nivram » 27 Mar 2010, 09:42

What a year this has been so far - as well as plenty of wonderful personal stuff going on my dear friend called me yesterday to say Shadowmania has been announced, (I go on here every day pretty much and missed the title at the top somehow). Its simple really. My year has been made by Bruce once again putting on his wonderful show and I, for one, wish to say thanks way in advance for this. Its been fantastic that Bruce has been on a world tour, played huge arenas and blown all in his wake away with his guitar and vocal mastery. He is coming home to those who love him and want to stand six feet away to see this genius at work. I am so glad I have tuesday off this week, the phone will burn out its battery I fear...... I must also say a huge thanks to Bruce and Hank for signing my guitar this year. But Bruce is the Man and I hope he has as fabulous a weekend in September as I am sure we will.

Don't know about 'Shadowmania' but talking as a complete outsider (not an anorak), I would sat Bruce Welch appears to be a thoroughly nice person. I see certain 'edges' on the other members HBM and BB but in my mind BW is the man. Further, I have the the 'Final Tour 2004 DVD' and the latest 'Reunion DVD' and BWs guitar work seems to be more to the front and I would rank him as the worlds foremost Rhythm Guitarist.

Edges :?: What edges :?: To me they all seem like thoroughly likeable, genuine guys. That's just my perception.

From the USA, I agree...Bruce is quite "the man."

Maybe someone(s) on this board should nominate him for one of those magazine honors like "guitarist of the year, generation, decade, etc." something like that.

I'm not familiar with British mags, but I'm sure all of you are and are up for the challenge.

And I have only given my perception!

Bruce was actually voted best rhythm guitarist ever by a survey in one of the guitar mags (Guitarist I think!) a few years ago.
Well deserved too!

re. 'edges'.

Can I just say that having met Brian Bennett a few years ago, he came across as genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life. If he has an 'edge', then I certainly didn't see it. In fact, they all come across well.

Wonderful. Got my tickets after having two phones going and over fifty attempts at 10.17. (cant play guitar now as my thumbs hurt ha ha). I am just glad to be able to go there. Have a good one everyone and lets give Bruce the best early birthday he could have.
