Top 40

Postby nivram106 » 20 Sep 2009, 20:18

Singing The Blues arrived in the Top 40 at number 40, such a pity as we all had such high hopes for it.
Just hope the album does better. My copy arrived yesterday and I am very impressed (especially Hanks guitar work).

Blinkin' 'eck! That's a pretty incredible statement which will come as a huge surprise to many of us!

Sorry I just can't accept that, couple of months and I'll be 61 and I spend hours on my computer...and I built it myself !!

I'm 67 next month, build my own pcs, do repairs to both pcs and laptops, am totally computer literate so downloading from the net is like falling off a log to me so it's not only "the young ones" who have knowledge of modern technology!

Ditto. Worked in IT for 20 years before early retirement, now teaching computer skills to adults of all ages. Gary's sweeping generalisation is way off the mark.

Well, it looks like the single has fallen out of the top 40 but the album has gone in at no. 6 which can't be bad under any circumstances.

Thank you, the BBC, for not playing the single. If your playlists consisted of nothing more than a few over-hyped acts then you get the charts you deserve; full of records that sell so few while getting to the top 10 that during the 60s, 70s and 80s they wouldn't have reached the top 100.

Might it just be that a more 'mature ' fan base will work out that there is no real point in buying the single when you are buying the Album ...... begs the queston ....What's the point in singles?
