Fort Knox Info?

I've just added this to my repertoire but I'm not sure who recorded it. Can anyone enlighten me, please?

Thanks, Bob. I knew it was recorded by The Outlaws but when I checked on YouTube, this is what i got which is definitely not the Fort Knox I was expecting!

Fort Knox is also a Lenny Clerwall composition, and I think that's the one you're thinking of.

Yes, and it was probably first recorded in 1981 by the Swedish group "1961".

As George pointed out, the "Fort Knox" that you are asking about is a Lennart Clerwall composition.

The Swedish group "1961" are the only ones that I know of that have recorded the number and they appeared at 'Pipeline' a few years ago. Their lead guitarist is Ronnie Gustafsson.

Many thanks chaps. Yes, 1961, I tracked it down myself just a couple of minutes ago. It's a terrific, driving instrumental and I'm amazed it wasn't more widely recorded.

This topic got me thinking........(and, please, no comments from Mr Geddes or Mr McKillop about me "thinking" )....there must be many instances where instrumentals (particularly) might have been written and recorded with the same title but with no musical connection. At least with the Shadows habit of regularly naming their compositions with comical titles it is unlikely that there will be duplicated titles - but totally different tunes - to:
"I wish I could shimmy like my sister Arthur"
"Scotch on the Socks"
"Voyage to the bottom of the bath"
"Theme from a filletted plaice"
"Captain Haddock is missing"
etc. etc.
Oh well - that's my thought for the day - back to work.
