Past Masters & Damion Concert Friday 9 July

Postby dave robinson » 07 Jul 2010, 10:39

I hadn't mentioned it here before, but anyone who fancies a Cliff & Shadows night along with a pie & peas supper, there are about twenty tickets left for our gig at Eckington Civic Hall this coming Friday.
We usually do these evenings as rock & roll/sixties gigs, but after the success at Worksop were asked to do a similar show in Eckington, just on the south side of Sheffield near the M1 jct 30.

Tickets are £11.00 and available by calling Margaret or Mel on 01246 430155. :)

Hi Dave
You will be glad to know the show is now sold out.
Hope you have a good one.
I thought it might have been a nice drive up to Sheffield but not this time.
All the best.
May see you at Shadowmania??
Take care

Thanks Harry, I am informed that it is sold out as you say, maybe next time.
I won't be at Shadowmania either, so maybe we'll catch you later.

Hi all. Great gig last night at Eckington. The sound, the playing, the atmosphere got better and better as the gig progressed through all the early Cliff and the Shads stuff. The sound on Frightened City and The Sausage sorry The Savage is the best I have heard and 100% That sound. The guitar sound on all the Cliff stuff was again superb, the Burns twelve string didnt quite cut through like the Strat did but when it did it sounded very good.
A big thank you to Past Masters, for putting on a great show, the hall was, very very hot, and to the chef, for putting on a great pie and pea supper.
Regards Geoff.

Thanks for that Geoff, I didn't realise that you were at the show, you should have made yourself known as I was using the Vox amp that your lad sold after Jet had finished with it in 2006. I had two Strats there but the tunes that you were impressed with were played on my old '63 Strat with the 'Sliders' pickups and I was delighted with the sound. The Echo machine was my ESE.
It was a very hot night, especially with 4000 watts of lighting on top of us, but we enjoyed rolling back the years with all the early hits, though it's not something I'd like to do on a regular basis, as for me there is too much material that we are unable to include on this type of gig. It was good to see Harry Howden and Mel at the gig and I enjoyed our little chat at half time, thank you all for supporting the show. :)

We had a great time Dave as we said at half time. I think what we said was pretty much in line with Geoff's view.
Not only was the sound there, the balance was perfect with all instruments and vocals heard as they should be.
A great show and, if I may say wonderful people, oh and not to mention the pie and peas.
Hope to see you and the boys again, maybe at one of your 50's/60's gigs.
Take care and best wishes to you all.
