Thanks Phil and Malc for chipping in .. Phil would be great to meet you ... and you too Malc.

I tried a few ideas at home today and got a real nice sound but guess what............... not right :!:

I do hear reverb and I had another listen to the original and the sound of the guitar is very thin such that it could not have come from any Vox amp by adjusting trebles/mids/basses/presence even treble booster I suggest... which had me thinking it could possibily be just the 'wet' signal from a reverb with the guitar taken out (not direct signal) I agreee there is a compressed thing about it but I cannot see that sound coming from any amp even a very samll one which is why I think there is something in the dry/wet mix thing with reverb signal and perhaps compression to get the right frequencies going along with the usual Meazzi/VOX AC30/4 and strat. I will test that theory next time I get my gear out and see if I can get anything like it

It's such a great sound I just gotta try find out how it was done and having a few head banging moments trying to think it through. :?

Phil

Would love to see/hear you at a Hankies meeting - I heard you at St. Donats in '97 and at the first ever Shadowmania, but not since.

I warn you though that the Great Wyrley Working Men's Club no longer supply cheese cobs :o - although Roger often provides his home-made ones which are equally good.

Update: After 10 years absence, now a born-again Hankie
