Pastmasters

Postby neilbridges99 » 02 Oct 2010, 09:32

Went to see Pastmasters last night at the Acorn Theatre in Worksop. What a show full of power and energy. The Pastmasters were reunited with there original singer Jock what a good voice and so much energy, and Dave Eyre the original drummer what a drummer Little B played to perfection. The singing and harmony's were a treat, two hours + of non stop golden oldies what a treat. It was like a wall of perfect sound but not to loud every one playing there part to perfection. You could not get any better no matter who played and sang a perfect night. Hats off to all six, a night to remember. Cant wait for the next one. Cheers Neil :D

Thanks guys, it was a good night for us too and I concede that we haven't enjoyed a gig so much in a long time. I know there were one or two glitches, but nothing too serious on the playing side and we are doing it again with the same line up when circumstances allow it to happen. Watch this space - as they say. :)

Thanks for a great night Dave and the gang. Yes best gig yet from the Pastmasters. You all looked as though you were enjoying it as indeed did the crowd!
Can you do us a favor on the next one.... don't attract so many people then we can get to the bar in the interval! :D :D :D

Seriously a great show, well staged, super balance of sound and good to hear the banter within a band who clearly 'get on'
Great to see live music being so well supported
Heres to the next time

Take care

Hi all,

Any videos of the gig ?, I have an older PastMasters video and it is indeed a treat. I love all things Oldies.

David,
Have you played that beautiful tune You posted not long ago, I forgot the name but I believe the theme was
about WWII and the bravery of the British troops. I would love to see a live band version of it.

Congratulations,
Abel

Hi Abel, we didn't include 'No Retreat' in the set as there were so many other tunes that we needed to play to make it a balanced show and also, we needed to do songs that included the full six piece line up as much as possible. We do intend to include it next time around along with a couple of new original self penned songs/tunes that we are currently working on.
Thanks for the link Peter - if I remember correctly the sound that you like was achieved on a USA Deluxe Strat (Noiseless Vintage pickups) through a Quad GT and Fender Blues DeVille amplifier - it was recorded in 2001 . . . . . . . . . . I like it too. :)

The combination of image and sound brings tears to one's eyes.
A superb tribute to those young men and women who fought so bravely.

Blessings,
Abel

A friend of mine has kindly give me some nice video footage of the Acorn gig and I am currently working on putting a few clips on You Tube - Little B is a must . . . . I'm a bit slow at this game but I'll get it done ASAP. Thank you all for your support. :)
