So sounds like he didn't manage to work 'diamonds' into the act, then, as perbhis email to jet? I realise this was a big ask - but would have been amazing! Bernie

Didn't Johnny Kidd & the Pirates record a good version of The Fool?

Rob

Thanks for your notification on the Duane Eddy concerts, otherwise I would have been none the wiser and have missed what may be a once in a life time
opportunity to see this legend live.
I'v ordered tickets today for the York concert, next Wednesday - there are still some tickets left if anyone is interested.
Ecca mentioned "Shazam" - I've still got it on a vinyl 45 with "The Secret Seven" on the other side! It still sounds wonderful on vinyl.
Thanks again Rob

Best Wishes

Tony

Duane's Shazam has such energy.
The Shads version was tame by comparison.

Hi Tony,
My pleasure! You won't be disappointed. Look out for 'Hoffers' and there may well be others of the Shads fraternity there too. Ecca - yes - Duane was a big influence on the Shads (Jet especially). They played a version of "Shazam!" live onstage for many years before they finally got around to recording it in the studio. Me? I love both versions. Good old Duane - and what a genuinely modest and lovely guy he seems to be too.

Yes he was, but only in interview form. I gather he will play in the JH prog later this week.
