I'm not certain, whether I'll go if Ecca can't, besides which I'll be
travelling back from Devon on Saturday and may not feel like driving on
Sunday.

Pete and Team

Many thanks for organising another very enjoyable afternoon. The capacity crowd who attended today is a good measure of the success of the club you run

It was good to see The Foottappers again, at the club . They are all sounding better than ever. Adrian's Bass playing on "Temptation" was a real treat.

Look forward to the next meeting in December.

Best Wishes

Tony

Thanks for that Tony and indeed thanks to everyone for a brilliant meeting, 80+ bodies at one point! Thanks also for the many messages of support re the running of the club; it looks like things stay as they are. :)
Quite a few new faces there today, we hope to see you all again at the club.
And to round things off a nice "Shadowmix medley" by The Foottappers.

Cheers everyone and once again thanks for the support.

Pete and the team.

Hi Pete & Gang
Thanks for another afternoon of great music, some real quality playing, and good company; the number of people who came along surely confirms the club is as popular as ever. See you all in December.

Hi All,My second visit to North Notts club, After a 2 hr drive i played 2 tunes with b/t's(no problem everyone played 2) , in the second half i put my name on the list to play lead for 1 No, after 1hr 40 mins and my name had not been mentioned and watching several 'local' players being asked to play 2 and 3 times i decided to pack up my gear and make the 2 hr drive home, I don't expect preferential treatment as a guest but do expect equal treatment to everyone else !!.After i was halfway packing up my name was called(1 hr 45 mins) !!. On the plus side i did meet with some very nice people on tables either side

Hi Keith, let me try to explain for you what happened.
Yesterday there were a large number of people wanting to play and this is why they got to play only 2 songs to backing tracks each. (Except for myself who only played 1). For the live set, the names are called out in the order that they have been put down on the request sheet that goes round the room. Again there were lots of requests to play. So many in fact that I declined to play to make room for others and because of the long list we didn't get through them all untill around 5.30 pm. As you said, your name was eventually called but you had decided to leave for whatever reason.
Regarding the activities of the "local" players it invariably happens that we sometimes have a shortage of may be bass players or drummers and this does mean that they will end up playing more numbers than lead players. As for the lead players, the request sheet clearly states on it that they do only 2 consecutive numbers.
Going back to what I said in post 1 above, it is difficult to fit lots of players into a limited timeframe. What also happens a lot is people asking to be moved up the list as they have to leave early which I understand.

Perhaps we could consider making the request sheets individual instead of many on a single page then drawing them out like a raffle to decide the running order to make it fair. Perhaps the club attendees would let me have their thoughts or alternative ideas on that one.

Anyway, I'm glad you made some new friends on this occasion and please feel free to come back and see us (and play!) anytime.

Cheers,

Pete

Hi Pete, I can understand what you say, on the sheet the top/bottom 3 slots were full and a gap in the middle? As for lead players we saw several who played more than once(not consecutively) before my name was called . Thanks for the invite back I accept. Regards Keith
