Well the Shads have given us plenty of fabulous music over the years - including the Reunited Tour - and it's still happening in its various forms so another tour would be a step too far to expect I think. What I would love is a last album of originals. I'm sure there are cartloads of half-worked ideas they've amassed over the years - maybe they could dust them down and work on them one last time.
Alternatively, they could just enjoy their (Shadows) retirement in peace - I'd be happy with that too. Long live The Shadows.

Malc,
I'm with you on this one. Some original recordings would be just great, but if it never happens, we have so much wonderful
music both live and recorded to enjoy.
I think The Shadows have earned a welcome rest after the events of the last few years.
Cheers,
JB

As they said themselves, a few charity concerts or others are not ruled out, but they will certainly not tour again.

Very nice clip of Cool Water- with superb harmonies and matching Gibson acoustics!

AND if you watch the next clip of Let It Be Me, Hank and Bruce are using (miming with) those 'prototype'(?) Marvin S models- different body shape, smaller different scratchplates, and different knob layout...

And as for continuing with music, well , Bruce has his own Shadows, Hank has his gypsy jazz, Brian still does lots of TV theme type composing work etc, and Jet is still out there gigging...but whether the Shadows as a group will ever get together again...?????? Possibly for a charity or anniversary one off show maybe...?

Dear all,

I think that with the Final Tour and with the Reunited Tour we already got two things we could never expect.
We should be very glad that they did those tours.
Maybe there will be another tour upon the 55th anniversary - who knows ?

Regarding a complete new studio album I don't know if the group is ready to write enough songs for a complete album, another album with
cover versions of chart hits is certainly not one we should asking for....

Best regards

I agree with Tab, no need to apologise Gary!

I don't even hanker after a new album. The idea presupposes that these fine fellows still want to work with each other in a style they established as lads back in 1958. Imagine going to all the trouble and then getting the sort of reviews Hank had to put up with for some of his more recent material. I doubt the sales figures would reward the effort either.

(Not the best comparison, but I'm picturing going back to my first job with those who were there with me and setting about what we did then. The reunion would be amusing but the nuts and bolts of it would make it pall pretty quickly!)

The Shadows started something huge and have now moved on as musicians and as people. It's natural. So has the public.

Meanwhile I agree with cockroach about the opportunities they are providing now, especially Bruce. I'd add that Licorice is also still delighting fans with PAs all over the place.

Meanwhile, all power to the elbows of the young generation of players who have seen something in this music and are making it their own, as well as to the old hands who have encouraged them. I feel sure that, with their energy and creativity, they can develop much that we will enjoy and admire. Let's hope so!

Hi All,
Is this a tour or is it just a 'One Off'? I wanted to see Jet with Marty Wilde next week but could not get the time off. Please tell me it is a tour. Jim
