Yes I did enjoy the clip it`s the first time I have seen the Eurovision night performance .I was trying to figure out whether they were miming to a previously recorded backing track or not. Also does Bruce play bass guitar,Alan Tarney was playing piano so maybe it was pre recorded .What is procedure for Eurovision Song contests?

The bass Bruce was playing didn't sound the same as the bass that I could hear.

I thought Bruce's hand movements were more akin to playing rhythm than bass.

Also Brian Bennett was clearly not hitting the skins.

I believe the number was sung "live" but the rest was mimed.

And did anyone spot Bruce's "fluff" near the start of the song - I seem to recall an interview some-when when he mentioned this!

First time I have seen the actual show number since 1975 !

In his book, "Rock 'n' Roll, I Gave you the Best Years of My Life", Bruce explains the 'fluff' - saying that the curtain went up and knocked his microphone over..."I calmly bent down and picked it up just as I was about to go into the opening bars of the song" - but you can't see this happening in this clip from the contest.

Watch closely the video, and you'll see that the guitars are not plugged...
They certainly sung live, but mimed playing the guitars. Obviously, all of the music came from the orchestra.
