is this the old Vox factory in Dartford?

The "Hair Flair" one got the chop as far as I can tell. There is now a set back building where it once was.

The "old photograph" is in fact the most recent one there is;
it is a screenshot of a Google earth session about 10 days ago.
Should we conclude that the original browngrey building (on the left) is still there?
As I said before, it looks like the Jennings building.
When I saw it in '69 there were no neighbouring houses,
so the uglier houses to the right must be from a later date.

You are spot on!
I just checked the Google Street Map view myself. HAirFlair is STILL there and NOT set back. Its a fluke of the GoogleCam image that makes it look as if it is.
Compare it to my 1991 pic and you will see that is IS the same place!!

Yep - the Petrol station (ESSO)and the associated Tesco Express are NEXT DOOR - to the left of pic.

You can clearly see the old Jennings factory (now Europcar Rental) and the other two shops exactly as the old 1991 photo shows.

not sure why the pic is truncated to the right, but you can see the old factory building still.if you google street map 119 Dartford Raod and come back just a touch you will get this pic yourself.

Maybe in an old publication or Vox catalog?

Yes Bruce, that is the "factory" after 1961. It was situated just to the left of the original Jennings building and is, as rightly stated earlier now an Esso / Tesco Petrol Station. (see the left of the second Google street map pic)
The ORIGINAL Jennings still exists - vis a vis the piccies!!

I do not recall seeing this building in 1969/70. I would have noticed it, because I was so surprised to find the earlier building. Strange.
Could it be a picture from somwhere else?
