There are just a couple of cases, where session musicians have received a composer credit for contributing to Shadows recordings: "Honourable Puff-Puff" is credited to Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Brian Bennett, John Farrar and Dave Richmond, "Another Night" to Hank Marvin, Bruce Welch, Brian Bennett and Alan Tarney and "Over In A Flash" to Hank Marvin, Brian Bennett, Alan Jones and Cliff Hall. One example of a track which could have an arrangement credit on the record label, received by Alan Jones, is "Riders In The Sky". As most of the members here know, he thought of the arrangement for the bass line. There numerous of course.

I don't think arrangers get royalties even if they are credited. After all improvising a solo based on a melody does not constitute a composition- its what musicians are expected to do. Sometimes they get paid for it.

Bruce Welch wrote in his book that the arrangement for "Quatermaters' stores" had been credited to Norrie Paramor's brother, who as a consequence must have got as many royalties as Jerry Lordan did for Apache...

'Quatermaster's Stores' must be one of the most misquoted titles ever - misquoted almost as often as 'Fender Squier'! In the context of this thread, I think it would be an exception with regard to royalties going to the arranger, since, I believe, the original 'Quatermaster's Stores' does not have an attributed composer to whom royalties could be paid

I seem to recall (although at 60 mumble my memory may be fading) that 'Quatermassters Stoes' was arranged by Bill Shepherd, later to be involved in arranging some early Bee Gees hits.

It's not "Quatermaster's Stores" or "Quartermaster's Stores", but "Quatermasster's Stores".
