Bruce definitely didn't go on holiday on November 1st. On November 3rd he (& the Shadows) backed Cliff at the London Palladium. Brian Locking (as stated) completed the tracks for "Wonderful Life" on November 5th and November 10th. (On The Beach, A Matter Of Moments, Wonderful Life). Bruce was present on those sessions. I suspect that a '1' has been expunged somewhere & maybe Bruce departed for his holiday on November 11th. The next Cliff session was orchestral. However - on November 23rd Cliff recorded Watch What You Do With My Baby and I'm The Lonely One. Only Hank, Brian and John Rostill were in the studio (no Bruce). So...yes....presumably Hank dubbed on the rhythm guitar. The next Cliff session proper wasn't until March 26th 1964 - by which time Bruce was back and raring to go.

RE: "Argentina". I'm sure Bruce does play some rhythm on there. On the session concerned - extra work was being done to complete the track - but the whole day was over running big - time. Bruce is a keen football fan and he had a match to go to. He informed all concerned that if the session wasn't completed by a certain time (6.00pm? 6.30pm?) then he was going to leave at that point. He did just that - hence the need to draft in another guitarist (possibly just for the introduction). Maybe someone like Stuart Duffy could tell us more about that one?

From my records it is Kevin Peek on rhythm guitar plus Clive Hicks playing additional rhythm guitar during the opening bars.
I will try to trace where I found this information about Kevin Peek

Best wishes,

Fascinating, I would love to have heard Hank playing "Tocatta".
