I really cannot see the benefit of this thread. If I was ill I would be mortified to learn that my illness was broadcast in a public forum. Do you really think Bruce would derive any comfort from strangers wishing him well on a personal issue on an open forum. I think not.

Respect his privacy and delete the thread.

Bruce is not a stranger to many on this forum. Of course we should respect his privacy, but equally he should know that our thoughts are with him.

I along with everybody else in here wish Bruce well and a speedy recovery.

As for a couple of the comments previously posted....Were it me that was ill, I'd be exceptionally pleased with people wishing me well, whether I knew them personally or not. The guy is well known to us and therefore deserves the best wishes we can offer.
And for the life of me, I cant see where Dereks comments could possibly be inappropriate in any way. He's right to leave this thread here for us all to pass on our thoughts on Bruces recovery.

well I'm told Bruce is in a hospital in Chelsea and has had heart surgery at the beginning of the week. Im told he's quite poorly but is expected to recover ok. so let's all hope he is ok.

Be in no doubt that I too wish Bruce well but I still think illness is a private issue as are my thoughts wrt Bruce and his family. Having said that I have never met him and probably never will. I still cannot understand why it is discussed in open forum. Anyway that is the thoughts of a retired ShipMaster and long time fan of the Shadows.

Thanks for that information. I don't think we need to know any more of the ins and outs of the surgery. I'm sure we are all relieved to know that Bruce is over the worst of it (hopefully) and on the road to recovery.

I think we all have to respect Bruce's privacy. I have had the privilege to have a few talks with him, and if these news are real, all we can do is to wish him the best possible recovery.
