I think the Equaliser is on the top right of the board Phil/Noel so if not using an external EQ such as on the computer Media player can adjust sound there and also each channel has treble and bass to adjust. It's very much an ear thing to find what works but generally the mids need raising and the treble and bass cut to near flat settings to get a good starting point. I think the channel treble and bass can generally be left in neutral pos when using the EQ section for backing as the channel eq is probably there to balance instruments to the backings and as most people set the eq on their amps and modellers its best left flat so their sound does not change too much. If just using the PA mixer for backing it's just a matter of getting the sound for the backings right and the players amps will sort themselves ! Clearly the eq on the channels are to assist with balancing the instruments / mics coming in and the eq section (top right) affects the overall sound. If you shape the sound of the backings and guitars using other EQ then the nearer to flat the EQ the more likely the original tones are preserved so to speak. I cannot see the point of using the eq on the backing tracks/computer and on the PA as well because its getting complicated so one or the other needs to be set flat and the main thing to do is to balance the mix first then trim any EQ later if needed. Hope that makes sense
