Posting in "General" area

Postby David Martin » 10 Feb 2011, 08:55

Hi all...

I've noticed that many of you are now posting everything in the "General" area regardless of content... I suspect that quite a few folks, particularly those who post info about club meets think that their post isn't easily seen if it's placed in their own club area. This is easily rectified...

The best way of seeing what's new is simply to go to the main Board Index and click on View New Posts... you can even bookmark the resulting page (search.php?search_id=newposts) and up will come everything new since the last time you logged in...

And if you post within the most relevant "area" of the board, then future "seekers after That Sound and other Shads stuff" will be able to find it so much more easily.

To that end, now we know the good news, the thread about Bruce and his recovery is now in the People area as a "sticky" and will stay at the top of that for the next 30 days...

D

p.s. Judging by previous comments, I take it that no one wants me to go through General and move things "appropriately" ? :)

Hi, David,

It would be wonderful if one could be confident that every intended recipient (eg, every member of a particular club) reads the clubs section. But there is no way of knowing that they all do, hence (for one) my practise of placing the SMSE 7-day reminders in both "Clubs" and "General"...

Best wishes,

The General section is the only one whereby you know that people will look at.
