Trayc called to see me yesterday, and told me she could not log in to the site anymore, she seems quite in the know when it comes to computers
but she tells me it asked for her user name - password - then she had to type a repeat of a series of letters and numbers, did this and she still
could not log in.
I said I would post this for her, and ask if anyone can help.

I have not had these requests, and log in as I always have dont understand it ???
John
P.S. anyone that has met her will know she is a truly genuine and lovely young lady.

Hi.
I note this thread was started yesterday (14/2/2011) at 12.32pm. It is now 10.55am on 15/2/2011
It would appear there is no response from someone in the know (Moderator etc.) regarding the problem. Surely this should be investigated as a matter of urgency especially since there are so many viruses and bugs out there waiting to attack our systems, so come on someone keep us informed !!!

I've had this experience too...

Over the last few weeks we have experienced a "flood" of spam invalid membership applications - often over 50 a day - each has to be looked at to determine that it is spam and then rejected. Quite a time consumer...

Bob has been beavering away trying to stem the tide and seems to have succeeded now... perhaps our shared experience is part of his plan to root out spambots...

Did you also have to answer a question about The Shadows?

Just managed to log in with no problems. Spammers are always a problem, they used to cause havoc on the now virtually defunct sky forum.

To go slightly Off Off Topic (!!), just received my copy of 'Me and My Shadows' - just released on CD. Really looking forward to playing it later as I have yet to hear most of the tracks from it and I am led to believe that it's one of their best!!

Thanks again and see ya again soon. Hopefully...

On the last couple of occasions that I have logged in, my first attempt has failed. A message has come up saying:

You exeeded your maximum number of log-in attempts. In addition to your password you must now enter the code from the image below.

Now, I usually associate this kind of message with repeated attempts to log in using the wrong password, ie; someone trying to fraudulently log in to something.

So, has anyone else had this problem? Does it mean that someone, or an automated 'robot', is trying to access my account?

It's a bit worrying, so any thoughts/help from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.

Chris.

Since upgrading to Windows 7 on new computer I now have to log in every time I visit site. Even though I set it to log me in automatically.
Has anyone else noticed this ?

Just had difficulty logging in again. Again I was informed that I had exceeded the maximum number of log in attempts, which clearly I hadn't!, and I had to confirm the code from the image etc... So, for me at least, it's still playing up a bit... Sorry.

Me too, but only on one computer. The other one, also running under Windows 7 logs in automatically without problems. Before upgrading to W7 I had the exactly same under Vista, one needed always a new log-in, the other one did it automatically. However, I did not find out any differences in the set-ups - yet. But I am still trying and will post it it if I should find out.

Best wishes,
Ulrich
