What a night! 1 year ago tomorrow

Postby Rosemary » 17 Feb 2011, 10:33

Tomorrow is the anniversary of The Shadows and Sir Cliff concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. It was a Thursday last year and a night I'll never forget so thought I'd share the memories. :)

There are also a couple of videos on YouTube but the sound quality is pretty poor on the mobiles or whatever they used. They're still nice to look back on.

I think only one audience recording has surfaced from all of the concerts played, I cannot believe there were less than 50 digital recorders at any of them

Rosemary,
If your concert was as good as the one I attended in Christchurch, I believe it was the best musical production I have seen in my 60+ years.
I regularly watch the the DVD and think 'if only I could be there one more time'.
I have seen Cliff and The Shadows separately on several previous occasions, but this was an experience of a lifetime.
Long may they continue to entertain us with the music we enjoy so much.
Cheers,
JB

Hi Stephen, David and John
I've been re-living the whole concert in my head recalling even more details and if it weren't getting late I'd play the DVD tonight too but might do that tomorrow.
The fabulous music, the brilliant musicianship, the energy and fun and the whole wonderful atmosphere were simply amazing. They gave us 1000000% at those concerts, many very very happy memories and were an inspiration to everyone. It certainly changed my life. I've always been a very enthusiastic Shadows fan but now I spend weekends playing a Fender Stratocaster too! :)
All the best

I managed a few short video clips from what should have been a great viewing position in the centre seating at Wembley - but then all those selfish people stood up in front . . . . . .
