That guitarist was Geoff Mew, I saw him in the Savages line up with Freddie Fingers Lee at the TA Hall in Barnet.

I remember seeing Lord Sutch several times at Torquay Town Hall during the early 60s................What a performer!

One of his specialities was to throw large knives across the stage and into the PA speaker cabinets..........I'm not sure who owned them!

He also used to swing his hair through a fire at the front of the stage.

I also saw The Undertakers, who used to stand right on the edge of the stage, balancing on their Cuban heels, looking very smart in their tailed coats and top hats.

Makes the scruffy bands of today, in their woolly hats, look very ordinary, don't you think?

Pat.

If I'm honest, that video doesn't do justice to The Lord Such I watched live on many occasions 50+ years ago. And The Savages don't look all that savage either! It was interesting to watch but, sadly, like many things, it doesn't match up to the much clearer and happier memories.

You could be right, but it's probably all we've got. The best line up I saw was Blackmore/Little/Fenson/Wren in 1962.

I saw Sutch many times in Sheffield, didnt Richard Harding play lead guitar at some point. I can remember the band been very tight and powerfull for those days. What an entertainer he was. Cheers Neil
