Sad news indeed. Another one taken from us :(

Still, he did wonders for a lot of musicians and kept on til the end playing through illness.

I have just heard the very sad news. My sincere condolences to Janet and his family. i had the honour of meeting him on several occassions and he was always a true gentleman and a good sense of humour. I will always associate Nivram with his great bass playing.

Tony and I are very saddened by the news of Jet's passing. Fortunate to have met him on numerous occasions, latterly when he visited the South Coast Shadows Club last November.

My best recollection however, is one at ShadowMania. There was almost the full line~up of Shadows bass guitarists present, plus Alan and Griff, and I rushed to the bar to find Jet and pretty much dragged him into the gathering for a photograph of them all together! So many pictures taken of this rare opportunity!

So, now we have lost another Shadow ~ it'll be a good jam session in heaven tonight!

Rest in peace, Jet!

I'm so sad to hear this news. The coolest man in British rock 'n' roll...and such an inspiration to me and thousands of others. His music has given me so much pleasure. My condolences to his family.

Thank you, Jet

From Duane Eddy's website

http://gretschpages.com/forum/duane-eddy/

Deed Eddy wrote:

"I am very sorry to have to tell you that Jet Harris passed away, peacefully, at home in the early hours of this morning.

He and Duane had been in touch via email for the past two years, and had spoken of working together when the opportunity arose.

Jet Harris will surely be missed."

The message was ended with a utube link to Jet's signature tune "Diamonds"
