Board Header - No picture of John Farrar?

Any comment is invalid?? It has only been posted today! Further comments may not effect any change to the board header but to say 'comments are invalid' is nonsensical. What about comments of support and praise?

Hi,

I think the header looks o.k. Well done Boing!

As for John Farrar Bass - well it is wikipedia!

Comments or observations are invalid? what a lot of tosh, seems we're going backwards again. :(

Nothing wrong with the header, but sometimes when you see something, it triggers additional thoughts normally referred to as stimulation. The other names in the admin post with the exception of John and Alan, were/are commonly referred too as hired hands, which was not the case to the former players.

 Lmao...yeah Alan, and while they're at it, why don't they add a picture of my mother-in-law as well??
No...seriously guys...I think Bojan did a great job and also that everybody gets the message here..an "eye-catcher" header that let's
the Shads community know that THIS is the place to be to elaborate on what keeps us all busy..our musical interest in the Shads and what it's all about!!

Cheers,

I can't remember anyone saying "I won't vote for BD5 because it doesn't have a pic of John Farrar on it" so we got the most popular header and many thanks and congrats to Bojan.

However, maybe JF should be on it too; after all, he was a member of the band for Curly Leads, Tasty and Specs Appeal and not just a credited musician. After that I think that The Shadows consisted solely of Hank, Bruce and Brian, technically and legally.

A wee tweak and the header will be perfect but if it remains as it is, I for one, will not complain.

Once again, well Done Bojan, your cheque is in the post.

Hi Alan, it was me who posted that message, not admin. :)

Second, and I should have said this at the very beginning. Yes, it was definitely Steve's proposal for paying homage to Jet and the others by including their pictures that gave me the inspiration to make my designs, and not only this one, but also B6, which came in second. Even though I am proud of the job I did (I'm a TOTAL amateur) , I have to say that this is not only my triumph, but the triumph of the idea to include pictures of the Shadows on the board header.

Here are two possible solutions (if the administrators agree):

1. I could fit a photo of John Farrar into the existing header design (and I could also include a better photo of Tony to keep Ian happy) ;) ;
or
2. We could replace B5 with B6, which shows all the Shadows and also John Farrar (on the cover of the Specs Appeal Album). I would not mind since B6 is also my design and it did come in second.
:D

My apologies Bojan, I read things to quickly. :(

The header is fine, I just thought that Andrew Lewis had made a valid point and I of course added AH who was/is also credited as being a 'Shadow' like JF ...... and I didn't ask for it to be changed. What I think was poor, was post 10, how could anyone have raised objections at the stage where people had to vote on completed submissions? and secondly to say "Any comment or criticism of the winning entry now that it is live is, therefore, invalid." is rather sad. :?

The object of the exercise was to have a board header designed by a member of ShadowMusic and which the majority of the members wanted. All eligible entries have been clearly on view for the past 2 weeks during the voting period and any member could also see how the voting was going at any point during that period.

The winning entry has been a clear leader since voting started and while the majority of members have chosen not to vote, all members have had ample opportunity to make any comments, criticisms or observations they wanted to make.

The new header went live shortly after voting closed at exactly the time advertised.

For these reasons I was a little annoyed at reading the OP's message followed by the replies supporting that message. I will admit to a poor choice of words on my part but the sentiments stand.

It is precisely because this design was chosen as the winning entry that I started this thread. That is why I said that John Farrar deserves better from the members and management of this board.
