Not sure what all the fuss is about music stands - it's rock and roll for heavens sake and all one should need is a set list, the rest should be rehearsed and remembered. John Barry or any other big orchestra is a different thing altogether and their are many different parts, not half a dozen chords. You lot will argue about anything.

Maybe they use the music stand to put the set list on.

I do, as I can't see it when it's on the floor. :ugeek:

My point exactly, that's what the music stands are for in this case - although certain folks just don't get it ;)

It just goes to show what caring folks the Shads are....... putting a music stand out on the Final Tour so Alan McKillop could see the set list. ;)

You know what Dave,

What's the point!!

by the way on the subject of stands, I was annoyed to see Mr Daish using a stand for his
picks at Shadowmania, what's wrong with under his Scratchplate, is it not good enough for him!!

I used a music stand in the bands.
I can never remember the words to songs and in latter days they had to be printed in huge font
because I was too vain to play in my glasses.

I think Rob Bradfords comment are very sensible and very true, my personal opinion is Jet was one of the originals a great player, and instead of
disecting his role in The Shadows we should celebrate his contribution to our music, and let him rest in peace

Warren, yes, shameful. I'm thinking of demanding a refund from the O2, British Airways, Shadows management, the Morgan Hotel and various London restaurants, even Rapier Neil Ainsby who bought me a pint at the O2, despite having one of the greatest times of my life.
