Hi Dave
It was awhile ago that we watched it but I remember it started well with Buddy Holly numbers I think and then Hank and Ben and then afterwards we ended up fast forwarding over some of the other acts. I can't remember being aware of Hank's sound not being as good as usual but will re-watch sometime although I'm so totally in awe of his playing I probably sometimes don't notice the tone. :)
All the best

I was there with my son who is a guitarist but not Shads fan. He was impressed by Hank's sound and the easy way he played. We both thought that the concert was terrific. Altough Brian May is not a genuine Strat player, I was glad to see him there as he is also a guitar hero of mine. As stated above an appearance from Clapton and Knopfler would have made the night perfect.

The late Gary Moore stole the show with his performance, but I was disappointed by Gilmour's rather boring effort. Paul Rodgers showed what a great singer he is and when he got the audience singing All Right Now even my son joined in! I was glad to buy tickets later when he teamed up with Queen for a tour.

For those of you wondering why Whine-house and Callum were there - simple! They were then relatively unknown and their agent was promoting them wherever he could - they had previously made TV appearances on Parkinson. Whine-house looked and sounded totally amateurish in a show dominated by so many great names. Callum entertained well, but as already stated, his act had nothing to do with the theme of the show.

For those who have missed the point, I'd like to remind you that the event was a charity performance in aid of the Nordoff-Robbins music therapy centre and I'm fairly certain that all the acts gave their time for nothing.
(ex-guitar player) - now a ukulele and ukulele bass player!
Update: After 10 years absence, now a born-again Hankie

I agree that Hank's playing was good, as one would expect, but his sound was disappointing and lacked character for me.Whether or not it was down to the mixer man or the amp settings - who can tell?

Blimey! I opened up a can of worms there! I was only letting you know it was on :D

Actually, for me I hardly recalled the concert from the previous time I saw it, because I did exactly the same as most of you and whizzed through it. It was great to see The Crickets, with a not too impressive late entrance and performance by Ronnie Wood. Hank was of course great with my highlight, a great version of Sleepwalk. Albert Lee was impressive as usual with Country Boy backed by a rather lush chick on fiddle, who's name I can't recall! Old sausage fingers himself, Joe Walsh, superb. Paul Carrack also great with "How Long".
Yes, the late great Gary Moore did steal the show, is he the only strat player who can make it sound great with its volume set on 1?

The rest is a bit of a blur other than the obligatory "All Right Now".

I now have an HD TV and a Blu Ray player, and just installed them. Of course I also bought a few Blu Ray discs, and among them the "Strat Pack" and "The Final Tour" (I already had both on DVD).
I havn't had the time yet to watch it all, but "Wonderful Land" and "The Savage" by Hank and Ben Marvin are very good !

Looking forward for the "Final Reunion" on Blu Ray. Does anyone know if there are plans for such a release ?

I must admit for me Phil Palmer ( together with Gary Moore ) stole the show in the background playing great guitar

I had the answer from the editor. There are currently no plans for a Blu Ray release of "the Final Reunion" video By Cliff Richard & The Shadows... :(

c'est bien! En faisant les demandes et les réponses toi-même, tu es quasi sûr du renseignement au final.
Ceci dit, fais quand même gaffe de ne pas te contredire...ce serait dommage! :D :D :D
