Thanks Greg. I knew that this was in the offing - but naturally couldn't go public until everything was officially confirmed. It promises to be a GREAT event. The Rapiers first backed Jet in April, 1987 and continued to do so on literally hundreds of shows until 2009. Thereafter, they still backed Jet on an occasional basis. Jet (along with Hank, Bruce and Tony of course) was Colin's all - time musical hero. Billie Davis and Jet go all the way back to 1962. Famously, they were 'an item' for a while in those heady 1960s days. It was Billie who pulled the unconscious Jet clear of the wreckage (even though badly injured herself) following a terrible car crash (for which Jet was not to blame - some people even now are under that impression) in late 1963. For most of the new Millennium, Jet and Billie reunited (musically), along with the Rapiers, for some wonderful evenings of music. How fitting then, that they are putting on this musical evening in Jet's honour / memory. Lots of special guests (as yet unknown) - but nothing will be announced until nearer the date. Many of us at Pipeline saw a preview (still work in progress) of a wonderfully poignant DVD documentary with Jet talking about his life and work. The finished article will be shown at Amersham. I would say that this event is sure to sell out pretty fast. It's not on the Amersham website just yet....but I'm sure that it will be shortly. My advice.....book your tickets PDQ. In advance....thanks to all at Amersham (Ralph Gowling, Jim Grant et al), thanks to the Rapiers, thanks to Billie and thanks to the team behind the wonderful Jet documentary.
Bests.....Rob
