In the third clip from the top, Hank looks a bit like John Lennon!

Thanks Phil. Never seen these great pics before. Hank evidently still using a Binson echo in first pic.

Are they using Jennings (JMI?) amps? Funny how they are using them again now...

HI

Thanks Phil. Those are great pics.

They are using Jennings Amps. The company was called JEI by that time. Tom Jennings had left Vox and started his own company. They are J100D amp heads and 4 X 12 cabs. This was the tour where they were billed as 'The Shadows featuring Marvin, Welch and Farrar'. If you look closely at the pic you will see John Farrar is using the 'original Strat'. Hank used that Binson for a long time. From probably late 66 until after the band were reduced to a duo. He then tried an EC3 before using the Echoplex.

Regards

Stuart

Hi All

As both Cliff and Bruce deny being the one to have painted The Strat white, do you think its possible it was done during this period to match the Burns' and the memory of this being lost to all in the midst of time?

HI

No it was painted white long before that. Sometime shortly after Cliff got it back. It may well have been done to remove the etchings that were above the HBM letters that Hank had put on there. See Shadows to the Fore EP.

I was there in Copenhagen 1971. As I recall Olivia Newton John was introduced at the same time.
