I was thinking Blue Turns to Grey by Cliff Richard and the Shadows!

The complete version (The Shadows with The Norrie Paramor Strings and tom-tom overdub) is only available in mono and in two mock stereo mixes. The 2004 CD "The Shadows' Greatest Hits" containing both mono and stereo/mock stereo albums contains the complete mono version and first mock stereo mix. A complete stereo version was never released or maybe even mixed.

Thank you, Ivo. I will look for that. I have never heard the tomtom. 50 years on, I learn something new about Wonderful Land.

With reference to the snooker comments - When snooker was first shown in colour on TV the red, brown and pink looked almost the same! I used to work for the manufacturers of the Super Crystalate balls and we had to make special sets for TV coverage. The reds, brown and pink were different shades to the standard sets!
