Well it was back to the daily grind of work, working today in Runcorn, but kept thinking back to a really relaxing weekend in Scarborough. Just a note then to say how much Ann and I enjoyed Saturday at the E.Yorks Scarborough Gala weekend.. A lot of effort goes into such a well organised event I'm sure, and the venue, the friendly folk there plus of course those fish and chips at the restaurant ** ( ** should that be "A Plaice in the Sun" perhaps? ) etc all made for a really enjoyable day.. look forward to next year . Many thanks to all, David S.Willcocks, Congleton, Cheshire. (ps; next time I shall try not to beat the backing track to the finish ! )

Back home after a superb weekend.
Meeting old friends and making some new is what the community is about.
A BIG thank you to Ian and Linda, Terry, Les and the rest of the gang for providing great backline and arranging everything so well.
A personal thank you to Martin for allowing me to play his Pearl drums and yes they sounded really good.
The trip to Walkers in East Ayton was as always a massive success with the best fish and chips and oh that Ginger sponge with an ocean of custard, yum! yum!
Ange & I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be looking forward to next year.

A huge many many thanks to Linda and Ian for another two day Gala which must rank as a premier Shadownista annual event. Alan Jones.....well it's all been said before (unfortunately for those of us who try to play the bass it's true). On stage everyone had the opportunity to mix, match and play with Alan and other players from participating bands and some very talented "I wish I could play like he" individuals, in between sets. It all ran like a metronome thanks to the fantastic organisation. If you're planning to go to next years Gala start dieting today the fish and chips and puddings at Walkers are lethal.

Regards and thanks to all the family in Scarborough.

PSSS has anyone seen a Scotsman singing "There's a moos in the hoos", whilst playing a fiesta red strat ? Is there a backing track for this ?

What a weekend it was just fantastic to have been a part of it, A big Thank You to Ian, Linda Terry and Les for the organisation
and nothing was to much trouble to give help to all also we have to give a big pat on the back to Kevin for the smooth running of both days a great guy.
It was a pleasure to sit back and hear great music being played and the iceing on the cake was to hear Allen Jones on his bass,Wow what a man !!!.
When I got back home the first thing Mary my wife said was you have put some weight on pointing to my waist line so I will have to blaim that on the Carvery and the Walkers fish and chips
Oh to the Moos in the Hoos thanks Alan the video you took of Roger ,Luigi and myself ( Down South ) came out just fine and also a thank you to Ron who played drums for us on Saturday ,
And last but not least a a big Thank You to everyone for such friendship for making my weekend so memorable so lets do it all again next year.

Well, I did offer my services to Mr Allcock to provide authentic interjections on Hoots Mon, but he said my travelling expenses were too high...

Got home safely yesterday, a bit scary going over Brough, but got up the M6 & M74 before the damage caused due to the high winds started to affect other road users.
As everyone has said, another great week-end of music and fellowship, so a big thanks to Linda & Ian and all their helpers.
You may be wondering about the references to Hoots Mon, well I had a starring role with Shazam ............... and I blew it, I mucked up the words and just hope that it's not on Youtube.

I would like to add my thanks to all those involved in organising such an enjoyable event, particularly Ian and Linda Harper.
It was a wonderful weekend with a friendly atmosphere and good natured banter (very much helped along by Kevin the terrific compere).
Now then Mr Geddes - it comes to something when a Scotsman insinuates that someone from south of the border is 'careful with his money'!!
The truth is that I just couldn't face the prospect of those ties over the weekend! ;)

George,
There may have been a lack of tastefully selected ties last weekend howver some of the shirts, not only Mr McKillop's, but on other backs were quite a sight. Very bold choices, Mr Allcock.

Thoroughly enjoyed another great weekend meeting old friends and new.Right from arriving at the Majestic with our good friends Ingrid & Clive looking after us.
Linda Ian and all the background staff etc, your all like an extended family, and work so hard in putting this weekend together, well done to all groups and solo artists.
Trouble was we found Alan's moose lose on the way back over the Woodhead Pass, an hour & a half traffic jam from Worksop. Ha-Ha.
Hope to see some of you on the 5th June, Peasholm Park, 11th & 12th June Levisham. and 18th & 19th June Tyneside Gala.
Thanks to all our extended family,
Kev & Bren

Bosh, you were fab Alan. Biggest ovation of the day.
Besides, Bruce Welch "blew it" at Eurovision so you're in the best of company!

Cheers - Iain
