Hi

Alan Hawkshaw played the keyboards on Snap, Crackle and How's Your Dad on the: From Hank, Bruce, Brian and John album.

If you listen to the live version of It'll be Me, from the Cliff Rock n Roll Years Box set. then I think it is clear that Hank was on Piano and Bruce played the solo.

Regards

Looking through the old vinyl LPs in a local charity shop I found a copy of the 2nd Shadows Greatest Hits LP. I never owned a copy because I already had all the tracks on singles or EPs. The notes on the back are by Norrie Paramour and he records that he played piano on the Shadows recordings.

He only made that claim for some recordings. It is definitely Hank playing piano on the early stuff such as Stand Up And Say That! and Kinda Cool, as well as It'll Be Me and Bachelor Boy for Cliff Richard.

Of the tracks on the LP to which you refer ("More Hits!"), Norrie probably played the piano which is present in the rhythm on Shazam! and The Rise And Fall Of Flingel Bunt, as well as possibly playing on Don't Make My Baby Blue (which the Shadow always played on just guitars when performing live at the time).

I agree with all that. I have always thought the pianos that fatten up the sound all over the place were Norrie's work. I assume it's him also in Chinchilla

Did Hank play piano on the 80's recording of 'Nut Rocker'? Or was that Cliff Hall?

With "That's The Way It Goes", "The Dreams I Dream" and "A Better Man Than I", I presume it's Hank on piano. I don't know for sure who played piano, organ and/or harpsichord on "I Want You To Want Me", "Santa Ana", "Let It Be Me", "I Only Want To Be With You", "Stay Around", "Benno-San", "In The Past", "Prelude In E Major", "Trains And Boats And Planes", "Winchester Cathedral", "Naughty Nippon Nights", "Holy Cow", "Last Train To Clarksville", "Voyage To The Bottom Of The Bath", "The Magical Mrs. Clamps", "Here I Go Again Loving You" and "Maggie's Samba". On "Let Me Be The One" and "Like Strangers", I presume it's Brian Bennett. The only keyboard credits on the "Specs Appeal" album are Graham Todd on "God Only Knows" and Brian Bennett and John Farrar on ARP synthesizers, played by both on "Like Strangers". Also, I think I can hear an organ or electric piano on "Honourable Puff-Puff".
