Well, whilst it's nice that Hank is still active, recording and playing, the gypsy jazz guitar thing worldwide already has myriad Django style players (from virtuoso to wannabees)
When Hank plays his electric guitar style- whether it's 1960's Shads stuff and all in between right up to his last solo electric recordings, he was and is recognisably HANK B.MARVIN...
But, from what I've seen and heard on You Tube (although I live in Australia,as does Hank, he doesn't come here where I live to play these days, as yet) as a gypsy jazz guitarist, he becomes just another one of a very large crowd of very similar sounding Djangos all over the world...
Good luck to him, and I guess he can afford to do exactly what he likes these days, but if I want to listen to that style, there's still the original Django recordings available, and if you want to hear that style of music played live live, I would think there's a "Hot Club Quintette" style group currently playing somewhere in almost every major city around the world...
Don't get lost in the crowd please Hank!!- get back on yer Strat! Even dear old Duane Eddy has a new album out lately I see, in his own individual style...!!
